Just the right level of strength vs weight and features. There are cheaper containers that are flimsy and don't have key features like a hinged lid, secure latches, and a lid seal. There are heavier crates that cost much more and are cumbersome to move around. I found these crates to be just right for organizing camping and off-road recovery gear.
